What is Vermeil?

Vermeil (pronounced ver-MAY) is a very specific type of premium gold finish. Simply put, it is a combination of a very thick layer of gold over high-quality sterling silver. For your Jewellery to be labelled 'vermeil' its base must be of high-quality sterling silver and a thick gold layer of at least 10k or more. Industry regulated gold thickness must be of no less than 2.5 microns (very thick), meaning that your Vermeil jewellery will last much longer then any of your standard 'Gold Plated' jewellery. What is Rhodium Plating?

Rhodium Plating over Sterling Silver 925 makes the Jewellery more durable, shinier, resistant to tarnishing and gives a more plush white silver feel. Rhodium plated over sterling silver is more durable than just sterling silver.
